Bridget Roberts serves as the Chief, Direct File, leading the IRS’s work to deliver a pilot for the 2024 filing season. Prior to this assignment, Bridget served as the acting Transformation & Strategy Officer within the IRS, as a project director for the cross-functional transformation team to deliver the new IRS Strategic Operating Plan, and she previously served as the Deputy National Taxpayer Advocate within the Taxpayer Advocate Service. Bridget has spent nearly 20 years with the Taxpayer Advocate Service and the IRS focusing on issues related to taxpayer service, tax administration and assisting taxpayers in resolving their issues with the IRS. Bridget has a J.D. from Villanova University and an LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center.
