Jim Wang is the Deputy International Tax Counsel in the Office of International Tax Counsel, a division of the Office of Tax Policy within the U.S. Department of Treasury. Since joining Treasury in 2018, Jim’s work has focused on a number of regulatory projects, including projects implementing certain provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. For example, Jim has worked on regulations relating to sections 965, 956, 954(d)(3), 959, 245A, 861, 863, 865, and 897, among others. In addition to regulations, Jim also assists on matters relating to a variety of other international tax topics, including exchange of information for tax purposes, tax treaties, the intersection between tax and U.S. trade agreements, and aspects of the OECD’s multilateral work.
