Julie Sweeney (invited) is principal counsel for the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) and an assistant attorney general with the Maryland Office of the Attorney General. As principal counsel, she leads a team of attorneys and support staff providing legal services to MTA. Her practice includes complex litigation, transactions, public-private partnerships, major transportation capital projects, and contracts for transportation services and equipment.

Julie has considerable experience in civil rights, employment and labor matters, and complex litigation. She also advises MTA on major transportation initiatives and has served as a member of the MARC negotiation team responsible for negotiating commuter rail service contracts.
