Description
A package of seven bills before the House Ways and Means Committee would reshape nearly every aspect of digital asset taxation – extending the wash sale rules to crypto, allowing miners and stakers to elect deferral of income on newly minted assets, opening a limited-time voluntary disclosure program for non-compliant holders, and easing appraisal and reporting burdens on donations and everyday transactions. This panel walks through the proposals most likely to affect taxpayers, the planning and recordkeeping conversations advisors should be having now, and how to counsel taxpayers in the uncertain space between a congressional hearing and a signed law.
