Professor Leibow is an academic, attorney, and author. She’s Program Co-Director for the George Washington University’s ABA-approved Paralegal Studies Graduate Programs. In addition to teaching in and directing GW's Paralegal Studies Program, she serves on the DC Bar’s DC Affairs Community Steering Committee.
Before joining GW’s faculty, Lisa served as Administrative Law Judge at a state regulatory agency; as in-house regulatory counsel to a quasi-governmental trade association; and in private practice, representing clients in judicial, legislative and regulatory proceedings at the federal, state and local levels, as well as drafting contracts for broadcast stations and telecommunications carriers.
Lisa’s writing has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and listed as finalist for the Faulkner-Wisdom Novel Prize. She’s currently working on a collection of stories and essays inspired by Supreme Court Opinions. Her co-authored textbook Study of Law: A Critical Thinking Approach, 5th edition, was released by Aspen Publishing in February 2025.
