Amy L. Bess, Esq. is the recently-elected Chairperson of the D.C. Commission on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure, having been appointed to the Commission by the D.C. Bar in 2021. Ms. Bess is a Shareholder with the law firm of Vedder Price PC in Washington, D.C. and serves as the Managing Shareholder of its D.C. Office. For more than three decades, her legal practice has focused on litigation of employment disputes and advising employers on maintaining legally compliant workplaces. She regularly conducts workplace investigations and presents training seminars for managers and employees. Ms. Bess is an author and frequent speaker on a variety of employment topics. She has won numerous awards for her dedication to pro bono legal services.
Ms. Bess serves as a board member for the D.C. Coalition Against Domestic Violence, is a past Chair of the D.C. Bar’s Pro Bono Committee and a past member of the D.C. Bar’s Board of Governors.
