Benjamin S. Harvey is counsel to Goodell, DeVries, Leech & Dann LLP and a member of the firm’s Medical Malpractice Practice Group. Ben represents health-care organizations and providers, including doctors, hospitals, surgical centers, and skilled nursing facilities, in high-exposure medical malpractice and wrongful death lawsuits. He defends clients against allegations of negligence involving labor and delivery, emergency medicine, surgical procedures, long-term care, diagnosis, informed consent, and pharmacy services. Ben has extensive experience in complex civil litigation. He has also assisted medical providers in responding to investigations by the Board of Physicians.
Prior to joining Goodell DeVries, Ben was a civil litigation attorney at several well-regarded private law firms, where he concentrated his practice on defending medical malpractice, professional liability, products liability, and general liability claims. Ben also served as a deputy director of Baltimore City Circuit Court’s Civil Alternative Dispute Resolution Program. In addition to assisting in administering the program, he served as a neutral mediator on a wide variety of civil matters before they were set for trial.

Mr. Harvey graduated magna cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law. In addition to graduating with honors, he participated on the Civil Trial Advocacy Team.
