H. Scott Curtis is the general counsel to the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission. After clerking for the Honorable Alan M. Wilner on what used to be called the Maryland Court of Special Appeals in Annapolis from 1990 to 1991, Mr. Curtis became an assistant public defender in the Felony Trial Division in Baltimore City, defending clients charged with felonies in Circuit Court and trying more than 40 jury trials.
From 1999 – 2008, Mr. Curtis was an assistant attorney general representing the Maryland State Police. From 2008 – 2013, he was in the Courts & Judicial Affairs Division, becoming its chief counsel.
Scott graduated from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, where he was an editor of the Maryland Law Review and a Moot Court Board member.
