Lisa Zarlenga is a partner at Steptoe, where she focuses on corporate transactional and tax policy issues. She previously served as Tax Legislative Counsel at the Treasury Department, where she oversaw guidance and legislative proposals in a range of domestic tax policy areas.

Lisa combines her policy and transactional backgrounds to advise clients in certain specialized areas, including digital asset taxation. She advises clients on conducting and reporting digital asset transactions, structuring investments, and advocating for changes or clarifications in the law. Lisa co-edited and co-authored Taxation of Crypto Assets, which analyzes the taxation of crypto assets in 39 countries.
