Dan Mayo is a Partner at the public accounting firm of WithumSmith+Brown, PC. Mr. Mayo holds a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the Seton Hall University School of Law and an LL.M. in taxation from the NYU School of Law. In addition, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers College.
Dan joined Withum in 2019 and leads its National Tax Services Group. Dan has over 25 years of tax experience with large law firms, KPMG, and as in-house tax counsel at Citigroup and Barclays/Lehman Brothers. His practice focuses on corporate, partnership, and international tax, IRS audits, M&A, financial products, qualified small business stock, the employee retention credit, and expert witness testimony.
Dan is a frequent speaker and author on tax matters. He is also an Adjunct Tax Professor at the Georgetown University Law Center and a contributing author to Forbes Magazine. He is a past Chair of the Banking and Savings Institutions Tax Committee of the American Bar Association.
