Description
This panel will address the complexities of U.S. federal tax rules for digital assets. Among the issues we will explore are the sometimes surprising consequences for stablecoin users, “liquid stakers,” and other taxpayers of the current treatment of virtual currency as property; the perennial question of how staking and mining rewards are taxed and how the answer to that question could affect issuers of exchange-traded products that wish to stake their cryptocurrencies; and current legislative proposals.
