Michael W. Lestingi is a transportation policy and passenger rail professional who serves as a professional staff member for the US Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation. His work focuses on transportation policy, infrastructure planning, and passenger rail issues.

Michael previously held senior leadership positions with the Federal Railroad Administration, including serving as executive director. During his tenure, he worked on the development and implementation of federal rail transportation programs and initiatives and engaged with government, industry, and other stakeholders on passenger rail policy and infrastructure matters.

Michael earned a BS in mechanical engineering and a BA in Russian and international studies from Lafayette College.
