Description
This panel will explore the key updates to the Opportunity Zones (OZ) regime, which was made permanent by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. Topics will include the new rolling deferral period, the implementation of rural OZ provisions, the selection process for OZ 2.0 designations, overlapping issues for the co-existence of OZ 1.0 and OZ 2.0 tracts, and transitional challenges for businesses in OZ 1.0 tracts, as those zones near the expiration of their 2018 designations. Panelists will also address unresolved regulatory issues and other critical developments shaping the future of OZs.
