An Honest Conversation about Moral Distress
Moral distress is the experience of knowing what one’s personal integrity requires but feeling constrained from acting by client demands, financial pressures, or institutional systems. Though moral conflict is not new to the legal profession, current conditions have amplified its frequency and consequences.
This program creates space for a candid conversation about how moral distress manifests in legal work and how it can be addressed to protect the profession's integrity and well-being.
Participants will:
- Recognize the signs and patterns of moral distress
- Engage in an honest dialogue to reduce isolation and stigma
- Identifying practical, actionable strategies, both individually and collectively.
Please join the D.C. Bar Lawyer Assistance Program for this important conversation.
