This 90-minute ethics CLE will explore three popular areas of inquiry received by the DC Bar's Ethics Helpline around lawyer contract provisions and provide guidance on:
- Avoiding Rule 1.5 and 1.8 violations when inserting an arbitration clause in a client fee agreement;
- avoiding a Rule 5.4(b) violation when crafting a law firm partnership agreement that will include one or more partners who have no law license; and
- avoiding Rule 1.5 and 1.15 violations when drafting a fee agreement that entitles you to draw down a prepaid flat fee before completing your entire scope of work.
