This CLE will cover the start and end of a case: the engagement letter and withdrawal.   Hilary Gerzhoy and Tom Mason will explore critical features of a successful engagement letter and how those provisions intersect with the Rules of Professional Conduct including Rules 1.5 and 1.15.  What provisions should you always include? Are there protective measures you can take in an engagement letter? How should you discuss fees and payment terms?  The CLE will then address withdrawing from a representation pursuant to Rule 1.16.  When do you have to withdraw? When can you withdraw? And how do you withdraw?
